I’m Carlee. Welcome to my flower filled corner of the world!
Goldenrod is a floral design studio based in Seattle. Grown from a love of flowers, gardening and all things color. The native Goldenrod plant is a rich yellow and also happens to be one of my favorite Crayola crayon colors.
My work is best described as: wild, unique and wandering.
I believe that flowers are nature’s best story teller and they create experiences that are unique for everyone. My goal is to make my clients feel like trusted colleagues and friends, we work together to bring your vision to life.
Sustainable practices are a cornerstone of my business. We are a foam free studio, dedicated to reusing and recycling mechanics and vessels after each and every event. All of my inventory is rented out to clients and other professionals to reduce waste. I have transitioned away from single use plastics like boxes for corsages and boutonnieres, instead using reusable ‘hydration chambers’ for these delicate personal flowers. Any flowers remaining at the end of an event are donated or offered to our neighbors and favorite small businesses before going to the compost.
Sourcing seasonally and locally is another pillar of my business. Not only will you see each client’s personality represented, you will also see the designs change with the seasons. Soft and dainty in Spring, bold and bright in Summer, lush and full in Fall, and wild and textured in the Winter.
Over 90% of the product used in studio is grown by farmers in Washington, Oregon and California, with tropicals coming from Hawaii. Learn more about sourcing local flowers at Slow Flowers Society.
Over the past few years, I started my own cutting garden and it has been an absolute dream to incorporate flowers I’ve grown into designs. I am passionate about growing unique flowers with interesting colors, shapes and textures. Someday, you may even see Goldenrod Flower Farm…..!
